We’re delighted that you are interested in joining the Business Development Team at Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals! We are a fun, small but growing and extremely hardworking company. Our staff is a team of talented, passionate individuals, who come together to constantly improve ourselves, our services and our work environment. We work hard and play hard, especially in the outdoors!

Our mission is to furnish friendly, knowledgeable locals and comprehensive lodging, concierge, and real estate services providing a customized, turnkey solution for each of our guests visiting one of our markets. We will deliver the best overall value for our clients with the utmost integrity and attention to detail. We will also maintain a safe and enjoyable work environment for our associates; providing them an opportunity to grow personally and professionally.

Internship Program Details
Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals (RMVR) internship program is divided into three seasons: spring; summer; and fall. We are always accepting applications from qualified applicants. All interns gain valuable, hands-on, work experience while living in the exciting Vail Valley!

At the end of the preliminary Internship period, those with an impressive performance review will be offered to extend their Internship. Those who accept will become eligible between the third and sixth month of their Internship to receive a monthly stipend which will start at $600 per month. Receiving this compensation is based on performance and management reviews. All Interns who remain with the company past 6-months are guaranteed compensation.

The stipend will increase with longevity in the company and impressive performance reviews. Interns who are with the company for more than one year will begin to be considered for salaried positions (assuming that the positions are available).

Program Structure
The Business Development Team provides support for various areas throughout the company and is the primary component of company operations such as marketing, research and development, media, and analytical and statistical data interpretation. As a member of our BDT, you will receive training in each of these areas in addition to your internship specific area of focus.

Compensation:
All internships are unpaid.* RMVR offers all interns the following benefits:

Rent subsidy: Company provided housing.
Merchant Ski Pass (must meet qualifications)
Benefits: Living in Vail, Colorado is a dream come true for many. That’s due to the year-round events, beautiful scenery, and endless opportunities to play in the great outdoors! Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals also throws monthly BBQ’s for staff and partakes in the occasional rafting trips, golf outings, ski-biking, camping and much more!

We are Flexible
RMVR allows for a flexible schedule, so getting a part-time job here in Vail to cover expenses you might incur while you are here is always an option. One should note that this is a full-time internship, meaning that all members of the Business Development Team (BDT) are expected to work 40 hours a week. Regular work hours are Monday- Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Interns will accrue personal days with seniority.

Dates and Deadlines:
Applications for our Spring 2012 Internship Program are due December 1, 2011. Spring internships will start in early January and conclude in early May.

Our Internship Program is divided into 3 seasons throughout the year:

  • Spring: January – May
  • Summer: May/June – August/September
  • Fall: August/September – December/January

*Start and end dates are adjusted based on academic calendars and availability of hires.

We accept applications year-round and are excited to receive submissions from ambitious, creative, individuals throughout any of the three regular start dates.

RMVR will review all applications received. Qualified applicants will be sent a questionnaire specific to your requested internship and additional reading about RMVR. Once your completed questionnaire is received, the selection committee will determine if we’d like to move forward with an interview. Our selection process is very competitive and can often include more than two interviews with members

For Credit:
Hired interns must meet University requirements to obtain credit, minimum 2 to 3 credit hours for any season.

Internship Descriptions

Web Development
Qualifications:

  • Well versed in standards based XTML, CSS design principles.
  • Experience creating templates for dynamic database driven websites.
  • Ability to work efficiently with Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop/Illustrator/Dreamweaver and similar programs.
  • Interest in the outdoors, travel, hospitality, or similar industries.
  • Currently studying for a degree in Graphic design, Web Design, or similar majors.
  • Must be completing university junior year, senior, or recent graduate
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers as well as current, potential, and past clients.
  • Dedicated to finishing deadlines on time; time management skills are very important.
  • Listens to and works with management to reach goals as well as get the most out of the position.
  • Experience with formatting images for web; combining creativity with marketing goals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Updating the company website, working on client projects.
  • Working with developers, sales and marketing team to optimize website design.
  • Assist with marketing efforts creating compelling designs to help drive sales.
  • Building and improving SEM (search engine marketing) and SEO (search engine optimization).

Accounting
Qualifications:

  • Current Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate seeking a degree in Business Finance, Accounting, Marketing or a similar majors, with a strong level of interest in Business Operations and Capital Management.
  • Accounting, sales, marketing, and operations experience or equivalent education required.
  • Experience with preparing monthly reconciliations, month-end close processes, support with auditing, and various filing and clerical tasks as directed.
  • Must be able to analyze data, problem solve and develop recommendations moving forward.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work and independently and as a team is vital.
  • Highly motivated individual- ideal candidate will have a work hard and play hard mentality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of ROI on marketing initiatives.
  • Prepare weekly reports – Revenue tracking, current positioning report, cash flow management.
  • Perform market research.
  • Assist with RMVR Business Plan financial projections and updates.

Marketing
Qualifications:

  • Must be a university level Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate majoring in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Sales, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience in creating marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, etc.
  • Experience in developing messages based upon research and target audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Other helpful programs, but not required, are: Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and more.
  • Must be a creative, responsible, and reliable candidate who will take control and develop the project beyond given guidelines.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of SEO (search engine optimization) and SEM (search engine marketing).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Research new marketing strategies and channels.
  • Assist in preparations and promotions for the 2010-2011 ski season.
  • Analyze ROI on marketing campaigns.
  • Work with design team to effectively brand company on all marketing pieces.
  • Assist in building the company’s organic search rankings.

Public Relations
Qualifications:

  • Must be a university level Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate majoring in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Writing, or a related field.
  • SEO (search engine optimization) and SEM (search engine marketing) knowledge will make you an ideal candidate, but is not required.
  • News and press release writing experience. Knowledge and practice of AP Style required.
  • Research and strategic planning experience.
  • Computer (minimum Microsoft Office) and, desktop publishing, and editing skills.
  • Bilingual a plus, not required.
  • Event experience (planning, volunteering, or managing) helpful.
  • Relevant courses completed (i.e.: Marketing, advertising, news writing, speech, etc.)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with writing, distribution and tracking of company press releases
  • Create company-wide community involvement opportunities
  • Collaboration on Media Kits for Hoffman Consolidated Companies
  • Assist in building the company’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM).
  • Writing bogs, news and creative articles, marketing collateral, editorials, and similar materials.
  • Assist in development of company website(s).

Real Estate – Rocky Mountain Luxury Properties
Qualifications:

  • Interest or degree in Real Estate or holding Real Estate License with an unrelenting passion to learn and grow with the Fractional Real Estate Market which will be the biggest growth in vacation rental sales over the next ten years.
  • Must be a creative, responsible, and reliable candidate who will take control and develop the project beyond given guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Graphic Design Experience Preferred.
  • Dedication to finishing deadlines on time.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participating in market research and analysis.
  • Applying computer skills to real estate and general office functions.
  • Learn about Fractional Real Estate, research Vail, Beaver Creek, Aspen, Snowmass, Summit County, and other new markets that RMLP is planning its next stage of growth into.
  • Preparing portfolios (property briefs) of prospective properties.
  • Development and maintenance of property listings, for follow-up mailings and contact by the regular staff.
  • Creating and coordinating list of vacation renters and contacting fractional properties to list potential buyers as clients.
  • Performing general functions. These might include, for example, showing apartments for rental, assisting associates at open houses, telephone answering assignments, maintaining records and clerical work on listings, bringing comparable files up-to-date, or handling direct mail, etc.
  • Heavy involvement in the building of content for www.RockyMountainLuxuryProperties .com.
  • Involvement in the monthly newsletter and weekly direct emails to over 10,000 potential clients.

Copy Editing and Search Engine Optimization
Qualifications:

  • Must be a university level Sophomore, Junior, or Senior majoring in Communications, Creative Writing, Marketing, Advertising, Sales, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Must LOVE writing, as this will be the primary job function.
  • Working knowledge of social media and best practices for business integration.
  • Experience in writing blogs, news and creative articles, marketing collateral, editorials, and similar materials.
  • Interest in learning about internet marketing and website design practices.
  • Must be creative and resourceful in finding new and relevant topics to write about.
  • Computer (minimum Microsoft Office), desktop publishing, and editing skills.
  • Bilingual a plus, not required.
  • SEO (search engine optimization) and SEM (search engine marketing) knowledge will make you an ideal candidate, but is not required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with professional SEO consultants to assist in building the company’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
  • Design and execute social media marketing campaign for company.
  • Work with Public Relations to develop social media awareness.
  • Writing blogs, news and creative articles, marketing collateral, editorials and similar materials.
  • Write effective website copy that complies with search engine guidelines and integrates industry best practices.
  • Conduct keyword analysis/research and develop quality keyword portfolio utilizing SEM tools and resources.
  • Assist in development of company website(s).

Videography
Position Qualifications:

  • Seeking an extremely responsible individual. Selected candidate will be traveling to different ski destinations to film, but will be held accountable for daily, weekly, and long-term projects.
  • Current Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate seeking a degree in Video Production, Media Production, or similar major with a strong level of interest in video communication specifically for marketing purposes.
  • Marketing, advertising, documentary, and creative video work experience helpful.
  • Must be fluent in Adobe Premiere Pro. Although not required, skills in Adobe After Effects are extremely helpful.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, clients, and to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to produce video from raw footage to final edits while keeping the business’s marketing strategies and goals in mind. Must be fluent and comfortable in everything from pre to post production.
  • Can apply your creative touch from shot selection to editing style to produce promotional videos that invoke interest.
  • Must have a work hard play hard mentality. Must be a self motivator and teacher. You will learn however much you choose to push yourself.
  • Love for thinking out of the box and wanting to create the most fascinating Viral Marketing Campaign through your work.
  • Passion to learn and grow in this concept company as a team player.

Position Description:

  • Work with marketing department to create video marketing pieces that feature Resort destinations. Involves producing video from raw footage to final edits, while keeping the Company’s marketing strategies and goals in mind.
  • Shoot and produce short social media pieces. Push videos through social media.
  • Focus on marketing of Company’s videos through viral marketing.
  • Build Company image library through photography assignments,
  • Work with sales team to create promotional pieces as directed.
  • Company branding and communication.
