Free things to do during Spring Back to Vail 2010

Friday, April 9th, 2010

It’s actually not that hard- here’s a list of all the FREE things to do during Spring Back to Vail April 12-18, 2010.
1. Free concerts! The Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars are performing on April 16th at Checkpoint Charlie, from 6-10 pm in Vail Village. They will also be showing their documentary which tells the story of the bands’ long journey from the Sierra Leone and their experiences in various refugee camps.
2. Attend Après and “After Dark Parties” where you can snipe some freebies from Bud Light and Captain Morgan at bars throughout Vail Village and Lionshead. My favorites include the Red Lion, the George, and Samana Lounge.
3. Stop by the Men’s Journal Lounge and Reverb Eco Village with sponsors such as Bear Naked Granola and attendance by Stonyfield Farm and Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance. 8:30-3:30 at the base of the Vista Bahn lift near Vail Village.

The Vista Bahn charlift

Vista Bahn Charlift number 16

4. FREE concert! Don’t miss Wyclef Jean on Saturday, April 17 and guest Robert Earl Keen. This concert, located at Ford Park is THE concert not to miss this Spring in Vail! This will be an unforgettable combination and night to remember! Get there early- this will be one packed show! Robert Earl Keen starts at 5 pm, followed by Wyclef at 7 pm. No floor space left at my place- too many friends are coming, but you can find some great lodging deals and catch some spring runs!
5. Free lunch and entertainment continues on Sunday with the Rockstar World Pond Skimming Championships. Located at Golden Peak on Vail Mountain, watch as crazy skiers glide across a somewhat (sarcasm) chilly pool of water. Many wear costumes, some land smoothly, but most crash epically into the water! They should find a hot chocolate and heater sponsor for this one! Or perhaps an arctic dive suit maker….

Free BBQ will be provided, and then to wrap up Spring Back to Vail 2010….

6. Another free concert! Located again at Checkpoint Charlie in the Vail Village, Guster, an “acoustic-pop threesome” that throws humor into their alternative rock show.

Jumps, race tracks, and more

Big jumps at Golden Peak

One thing is for certain- this is one heck of a way to finish the winter here in Vail- and I won’t forget to take as many late season runs as I can humanely accomplish while also soaking in some spring weather, great music, friends, food, and fun! Hopefully the family will visit and join too- each of these events would be great for my young cousins, aunts, and more!

It's never boring in Vail !!!

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

One big event after the other………..it never gets boring in Vail !!!!!!!

Last weekend Vail hosted the first Vail Gay Ski Week which turned out to be a huge success. People attending had a blast.  Many people from all over the country, especially the East Coast, California and the Denver area traveled to Vail and enjoyed awesome snow, parties and events the Vail Gay Ski Week team came up with. Most people showed up Thursday for the first event- the Women Wrestling in Samanas. Nobody ever imagined that women wrestling could be such fun. The 10 woman wrestler gave their best and even more… People watching were pushing each other to get the best spot in order to see the girls rolling on the floor.  Then Friday morning most went out skiing and then getting ready for the Beer Bust. The Beer Bust Friday night was the first big party. Hosted in the Donovan Pavillion in Vail, the cowboy themed party was a great party. People enjoyed drinks and dancing to DJ Sammy Jo till midnight. Saturday morning seemed kind of slow. Registration was open at 8am but most people showed up later which was related to the Beer Bust and dancing the night before ….But once up, groups of skiers and boarders went out together and enjoyed the amazing Colorado weather and snow on the slopes. After skiing most went back to the Vail Plaza to relax in the Plaza Hot Tub and enjoy some drinks to prepare for the final party Saturday night – the POPular Party.  During the Popular Party with dj guillaume the silent auction was taking place approaching final bits for its closing at midnight. The Vail Gay Ski Week team managed to get amazing prices from resorts, art galleries, sport shops, hotels…on which participants were biting on. Most people at the party took advantage of the fact that they were staying right at the party place, the Vail Plaza, so that they could party really hard and then just roll in their room once the party was done at 2am. Sunday morning was even slower than Saturday…most participants decided to relax and then simply check out and travel home with amazing memories and looking forward to Vail Gay Summer and the next Vail Gay Ski Week.

Once Vail Gay Ski Week is over Vail Village is already getting ready for the next big event, the CarniVail. In less than two weeks, February 14th to the 21st the next event will be hosted in the party mountain town. Bridge Street will become Bourbon Street! CarniVail starts of on Sunday 14th up on Eagle’s Nest, located at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola, with true Cajun dishes including Crawfish, Gumbo, Jambalaya, music and more! The Bud Light Fat Tuesday Parade and Street Party with Frogs Gone Fishin’ and a Float Competition is going on February 16th, and on Friday, February 19 the event will be finished up with a free concert of Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe presented by Southern Comfort.

The Vail community also hosts a variety of music festivals and other sporting events throughout the summer. However, what we all need is a little vacation and Vail is the perfect place to relax, kick back and enjoy the Colorado Mountains.

Why Fractional Ownership is the smarter investment.

Monday, June 15th, 2009

April real estate numbers indicate a good sign and a gradual boost in Vail’s market economy. Land Title Guarantee Company has published April’s numbers, which show that April is the second best month thus far both in dollar volume, $57,567,700, and in transactions, 54, since January 01, 2009. These numbers are down in comparison to April 2008 sales by about 58%.

Vail, CO is a high-worth destination market that will never be fully affected by the economic hardships that metropolitan areas are currently facing. There will always be word-class properties and high spenders to utilize them. Vail Ski Vacations.com would like to extend to each and every one of our clients beneficial information about an easy and affordable investment option called fractional ownership.

Fractional ownership is the newer, easier, and smarter version of owning a timeshare. Vail Ski Vacations.com—soon to be Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals.com—is a third party vacation rental company with a real estate division that specializes in fractional ownership. Owning a fraction of a whole property is an affordable way to invest without a super, over-the-top second mortgage. It allows you to enjoy your residence without the headache of keeping up with the property’s utility management. Fractional ownership is a smart investment—specifically in a short-term vacation rental market like Vail— because you will continually collect payments from the lodging provider who’s supplying your property to consumers within the rental market. Because fractional properties are typically luxury rentals, you will collect a certain amount of rental income on a yearly basis.

Fractional ownership is different from timeshares in many ways. Firstly, the value of your property can appreciate. Secondly, the property is a deeded interest, so you can will it down to family members, versus only being able to have it for 30 years (with no included property restoration). The hotel, condo association, or property management company that rents out the fraction of your ownership keep up with the property in the most prestigious fashion so down the road, those fractional properties will continue to sell and resell.

What you will typically find in timeshares is that property management companies don’t put any money into the restoration of the property so at the end of a long period the timeshare property essentially depreciates in value, thus losing its market of renters.

Fractional ownership is a smarter investment for all of our clients because the price point is much more affordable, while still allowing for growth potential in the investment area. Vail is the number one ski resort in North America, and resort towns like Vail are never going to go out of business. The ski lifts are always going to run. Winter enthusiasts will always make time and effort to ski Vail and other Colorado ski resorts. And real estate companies and rental providers will always see a return on their investments.

April’s real estate numbers indicate monetary exchange and growth within the real estate market, especially those properties averaging between $500,000 and $1,000,000 (33%). These percentages denote the perfect time to invest in a Fractional and/or Private Residence club, as it is best for buyers to purchase these residences during the earlier phases, before prices increase as the project reaches sell out.

Visit our real estate division at www.vbclp.com (Vail/ Beaver Creek Luxury Properties) to find the best offers on fractional properties in exclusive locations with ease of ownership, furnished residences, included maintenance and house-keeping, investment potential and second home ownership opportunities!

Eyes on the Front Range

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

Never satisfied with remaining static, or complacent in this economy, VailSkiVacations.com and VailBeaverCreekLuxuryProperties.com are now expanding to encompass the Denver and Front Range.  This alluring market is void of a company that operates in our manner, and as such we made a calculated decision to expand operations.  Our expansion to Denver will be formulated under two subsidiaries, each offering outstanding customer service and a functional business model that enhances customer relationships.

Similar to our Vail Valley operations, LuxuryRentalsofDenver.com and LuxuryPropertiesofDenver.com will feature high end properties that are available for rent or for sale on the market.  Differentiating our company from our competition is certainly critical, and easily accomplished with our innovative business model.  Because our company operates as a hybrid of a travel agent and a property management company we have access to a large, diverse inventory of the area’s best properties.

This unprecedented access to booking a wide array of rentals ensures we offer highly competitive prices while matching you and your preferences to the perfect accommodations.  Independence from owning properties guarantees we present an unbiased practice to finding you lodging, resulting in better customer service and a great selection of properties.

Please check out our new websites for LuxuryRentalsofDenver.com and DenverLuxuryProperties.com to view our inventory and other information about this exciting market expansion!

Vail Luxury Rentals: One Willow Bridge

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

The highly exclusive One Willow Bridge is somewhat of a paradox in regards to Vail luxury rentals.  While on one hand it offers stunning interiors, a great location, outstanding customer service and more to please any guest, it also operates with a number of barriers that impair guests from booking this stunning accommodation.  Designed with Fractional Ownership as the primary means of accessing the lodge this is certainly one of Vail’s most prestigious lodges.  As such, VailSkiVacations.com is a great resource for booking a room at One Willow Bridge and the rest of Vail’s luxury rentals due to our deep network with local property management companies.

Our local staff is capable of booking this lodge, and a number of other luxury rentals detailed here as we’ve invested not only our business, but our lives into the Vail Valley.  One Willow Bridge is certainly one of our favorites as it blends modern comforts, such as their extensive electronic systems and wonderful hot tubs, with classic amenities.  These include granite counter tops, custom furnishings and valet services which all greatly enhance your experience at One Willow Bridge.

VailSkiVacations.com and all of our staff highly recommend One Willow Bridge for anyone looking to stay in Vail at one of the most exclusive properties in town.  In addition, if you appreciate and demand nothing less than perfect customer service this is one of the best ranked hotels in that regard.  An in house concierge who is extraordinarily helpful, and a full management system backing the company ensure nothing but the best.

If you’re interested in staying here contact us at 1-877-411-8245, or at our website.  In addition, if you’re looking to extend your stay in Denver we offer great service at LuxuryRentalsofDenver.com.

Vail's Renovation Aims for 2010

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

It’s been a few years since Vail’s reconstruction began, and while many of the projects have finished including the Arrabelle and the Vail Plaza Club a new batch of luxurious lodges, hotels and condos are projected to be completed in 2010. This second batch has certainly caught our attention; from the stunning Club at Solaris to the highly anticipated Ritz Carlton in Lionshead there is plenty to be excited for.

Truthfully, Vail has reached a new pinnacle in which it now accommodates more guests than ever, looks amazing and has certainly solidified its reputation as a world class skiing destination. Below we’ve highlighted a few projects that will certainly grab your attention, from revolutionary design to flawless guest service each soon to be finished project is a quality investment of your time or interest.

The Club at Solaris

Estimated Completion: April 2010

Since its beginnings the Club at Solaris (previously discussed here) has garnered attention, its set out to revolutionize not only design in Vail but how the real estate market works. The Club at Solaris is intriguing because it offers a wide array of fractional ownership opportunities with unique twists, the premier offering is a membership guaranteeing accommodation at any time of the year and whenever and however often you desire it. Limited ownership guarantees this as an illustrious investment, but it has a myriad of perks that include great access to Vail Mountain and the Village as well as the extensive amenities located in the building.

The Ritz Carleton Residences at Lionshead

Estimated Completion: November 2010

No longer will the Ritz Carleton in Bachelor Gulch (reviewed here) gain all of the Vail Valley’s praise, it will have to learn to share with its compatriot located in the newly renovated Lionshead Village. This stunning building will feature over 100 residences ranging in size from 2 to 6 bedrooms; these great accommodations will be complemented by stunning interiors and a wide array of amenities. Yet it’s the Ritz Carleton’s superior guest service and attention to detail that solidifies its reputation as one of the leaders in luxury residences. This is certainly going to have a pronounced effect on Lionshead Village as the Ritz Carleton and Arrabelle will reinvent this smaller, more reserved village of Vail.

For more information or help booking accommodations check out VailSkiVacations.com or call us at 1-877-411-8245 or visit our sister sites: LuxuryPropertiesofDenver and LuxuryRentalsofDenver
