Those vacationing in Avon or neighboring Beaver Creek won’t go lacking in fun things to do during hot summer nights. Vail may have its free Tuesday night concerts, but Avon has free Friday night movies. Every Friday starting July 23, movies will be screened outside at Harry A. Nottingham Park in Avon. Seating is on the grass so guests usually bring blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the film. This is a great event to bring the kids to. The park has picnic tables, a playground and paddle boats for Nottingham Lake, so you and your family can spend the whole day here and finish the night off with an entertaining movie. Or if you’d prefer to spend the night with your loved one minus the kids, on “Date Nights” you can leave the kids at the Avon Recreation Center where the staff will babysit them for free. You can’t beat that!
