Every year, Mardi Gras enthusiasts await Fat Tuesday, the infamous holiday known for its parades, masquerade balls, food, beads and partying. While the authentic event is held in New Orleans each year, there is no geographic restriction placed on where this holiday can be celebrated. So, Breckenridge decided to throw their own Mardi Gras weekend!
The holiday in Breckenridge will start on Saturday, February 18th from 6pm – 10pm with the Bacchus Ball at the Beaver Run Resort. The Bacchus Ball is a great way to spend a Saturday night, full of New Orleans style food, music, drinking and dancing. Be sure to bring your best costume or masque to ensure a great time. And now for the main event–the Mardi Gras Parade on Fat Tuesday! Fat Tuesday falls on February 21st this year, and the parade will begin at 4:30 pm on Main Street in Breckenridge. It is free to attend the parade, and will surely be a good time for all.
