Colors for the Season

Maybe some of you watched the red carpet at the Golden Globes earlier this week, calling out everyone who was wearing something so “last season”? I have found that watching people come down the slopes is very similar to a fashion show. One of my favorite parts of strolling through the Village is seeing all the bright colors against the sparkling white powder. Oh yeah, by the way, I’m a fashion major; in addition, I came out here from Ohio to work in graphic design. As a result, the mix of graphics on boards along with the smorgasbord of coats, pants, gogs, and boots definitely keep me creatively interested!

I know some of you are all about just rocking the sport and feel there is no need for sweet gear to stand out. However, never having snowboarded before, I decided that it was “necessary” to at least have cool outerwear if nothing else. When lacking in one area make it up in another! Right? Uh well…I soon realized that by going this route, it allowed everyone on the mountain to clearly see the multiple (and I’m talking multiple) times I fell. Nevertheless, despite the snickers I heard behind me, I’m still stoked about my gear and if you’re feeling daring, I say it’s time to go pick up a new item to update your look for the season! Standing out in neon colored gear while face planting will never feel better!

To make it easier, I’m including a few of my faves for the season! I know some of you like to stay loyal with one brand for the whole look, but I’m down with mixin and matchin!

DC Apache Snowboard Socks, Vans Hi Standard Snowboard Boots, Burton Snowboard, Betty Rides Full Package Glove, Nikita SkyHigh Pants, Volcom Century Heated Jacket, Electric Visual EG.5s B4BC Goggles, Smith Holt Skullcandy Audio Helmet
