Sundown Bowl and Blue Sky Basin are set to open in Vail this Thursday (Jan 19) and Friday (Jan 20), respectively. This will greatly increase the terrain available at Vail, and there is much powder to be had off the back side of the mountain. The long awaited opening of the back will make the skiing there that much more satisfying, some come out to Vail and enjoy some of the best skiing in the nation! Also, with more snow expected through the rest of the week and weekend, there will certainly be powder in the Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin. Here is a look at what will open tomorrow and Friday:
Thursday: Sun Up Bowl and China Bowl will open with Chair 17 (Sun Up Lift) and Chair 21 (Orient Express Lift) will open, with access to Yonder side of 17, Poppyfields, Shangri Li and Chop Stix
Friday: Blue Sky Basin will open with Chair 37 (Skyline Express Lift) and Chair 39 (Pete’s Express Lift) will open with access to Big Rock Park and other areas under Chair 39.
Get out there and enjoy the snow!
