Last week was a busy one at Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals. As the season quickly approaches us, there is plenty for all of us to do to stay busy around here, as many of you probably are throughout the country. The word on snow today is that we’ll see some around 1 p.m. Signs of white have been visible in the mountains, restaurants and resorts are hiring for seasonal staff, and packages have been arriving for my co-workers with new snow gear. It’s like the start of the holidays before the start of the holidays in the mountains. I guess that’s just the way we roll!
With all that said, upcoming events and the anticipation for a busy next several months have been keeping everyone at RMVR on their toes. After some professional sales training with Doug Kennedy, expert in hospitality and founder of the Kennedy Training Network, our sales agents have been diving right into training for operating the online booking tool, Inntopia. A user-friendly tool to book lodging and services from our website, travel planning will be further accessible, convenient, and diverse for our valued customers. Requests and planning for Vail Gay Ski Week this March has been keeping us busy with web design, marketing plans, and reaching out to media. Additionally, RMVR has been making hires and expanding office space.
And the kick off to another week begins today! Thankfully, living in a place like Vail automatically throws you into continuous vacation living in between work. With a little bit of yoga by the lake in Frisco, and a little bit of fall hiking to overlook the Vail Valley that will soon be bustling with skiers and snowfall, I was quickly able to regain all the good energy needed for more work to be done. Here’s to a good week, good coffee, and great vacations! Book with us at Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals, stay posted with updated RMVR news, and throw yourself into the excitement of Rocky Mountain living. Cheers!

Girls love wearing fancy masks!
February 14-19 is Carnivail! I’ve noticed signs around town and can’t be more excited! After their Super Bowl win- I think all of America is pumped for Mardi Gras, and this is Vail’s own version! If you can’t make it to New Orleans, then what better way to spend it than in the mountains? Our stars alone are better than the fireworks, and the people know here know how to celebrate!
After finishing our own great event- Vail Gay Ski Week- we are rested and ready to participate in this once a year event in Vail! Come see our friends, the Frogs Gone Fishin’, at the Fat Tuesday Parade (free!)! We love these guys, and they are local favorites!
Missing that dirty south great cookin? Not a problem- join us in becoming fat kids again with the “World’s Highest Low Country Crawfish Boil” at Eagle’s Nest. Go skiing or riding afterward to burn those calories! Here’s the menu Vail has planned:
1 lb. Crawfish, Andouille Sausage, Corn, New Potatoes, Garlic Bread – $14.95
Bowl of Gumbo – $7.95
Crawfish Etouffee- $8.95
King Cake – $3.50
I will also be hitting up my favorite places in Vail- Sweet Basil, Samana, the Tap Room, and more. Email me if you want to plan meeting up!

I can’t believe Vail Gay Ski Week is gone, done, over, finished. I was all the time, “Where is the time going? Why is time flying by so fast!” The parties were memorable, the friends unforgettable. I miss it all, all ready. Next event up for grabs is Vail Gay Summer, and man, do we have everything already planned for it! We’ve been planning both at the same time, and all the snags that came with this event will not be there in the summer. This event is here to stay, for years to come, and the hundreds who came out to be a part of of Vail Gay Ski Week were super psyched about next year, and this summer. So CHEERS to everyone, and we here at Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals are waiting for you all to come out this summer!
The night started off with a benefit dinner. I had the salmon, and it was DUHliziozo! (delicious) Afterwords, I put on my sports jacket, and rolled on in to some great house music by dj guillaume. I was met by the Vail Gay Ski Week staff with a smile, and saw a room full of silent auction items that many people were bidding on. It was fun. As I entered the party, I noticed all the Hotel staffed by the corner bars selling drinks and handing out appetizers. The feel was great, the music was pumping, and everyone was having a great time. This was the party to end all parties. At the end of the night, Vail Gay Ski Week announced the winners of the benefit dinner. I didn’t win the golf pants that I had bid on. I hope that whoever won remembers my fight to the finish for these pants! Good night all!

While planning Vail Gay Ski week this year Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals has been brainstorming on how to set itself apart from other ski resorts. Aspen is incredibly supportive of our cause and we have been thinking about what we can offer our guests that no one else can. After much thought about prices and possibilities the answer suddenly became very clear.
Lets do Vail justice by taking all of the reasons we love Vail and bringing them to the gay community and beyond. Vail is known for being a skiers mountain for one reason alone, because the mountain is ridiculous and has something to offer for everyone of all ages and skill levels. You come to Vail to ski, snowboard, bike, fish, hike, or for the humble reminder that this is a beautiful world we live in. You live in Vail because you are addicted to the open air, the local people, the awe-inspiring mountain, and the feeling of starting everyday by waking up everyday full of adrenaline.
We are a local community full of a diverse staff that has about only one thing in common, we love Vail and there is no one else on earth we would rather be. To put on an event that will put Vail on the map in the right way we are not going to sugar coat it with a circus and neon light show we are going to saturate the event with our good ol’ mountain charm.
The goal of Vail Gay Ski Week this year named “Out on the Mountain” is to bring out the best of
Vail and showcase it. We want it to be affordable, accessible, and an event that everyone can come to and not worry about it burning a hole in their wallet. There is no need to dress Vail up, Vail is memorable because of its intimate villages and friendly faces.
We want people to remember Vail because they had a authentic experience full of parties, skiing, and friends just like it should be. Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals is excited to join with the community in making this event incredible and you are all invited to join!

Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals is putting on Vail Gay Ski Week from January 27-31st and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Our former company Vail Ski Vacations put it on in 2007 but the event didn’t catch on the way we had hoped and due to the economy last year we took a break but this year we are going to blow it up. This years “Out on the Mountain”, Gay Ski Event is going to finally put Vail on the map.
Gay Ski Week has been embraced by all of the major ski resort towns not only the United States
but worldwide. Aspen will be celebrating its 33rd anniversary this year and Mammoth Mountain’s gay ski week is huge. Telluride, Winter Park, Bariloche in Argentina, even Austria are huge supporters of the cause.
Not only does Gay Ski Week bring a huge economic pulse to the local businesses, but it is also a way of saying loud and proud that our community one hundred percent stands behind any lifestyle choices as long as you like to party in the mountains.
Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals is proud keep it local, we want every businesses in Vail Valley to be involved and bring the gay community together. We want to involve the community as much as possible so everyone can not only reap the economic benefits but also everyone can have fun and show the support they never have been given the chance to before.
We have reached out and the community response is enormous, everyone is ready to embrace this event and because Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals is a small, local company putting it on, most people are even more eager to extend a hand.
” During such difficult economic times it is important to keep the focus local to keep our community thriving,” says Janyce Brandon event coordinator.
It is about time that Vail was able to show their support for such a great cause and we can’t wait for you all to join in!
The greatest benefit of choosing Vail Ski Vacations to handle your lodging needs is undoubtedly our loyal partnerships with the widest variety of property management companies, hotels, and condo associations in the Vail Valley. We receive the earliest notifications on sales and promotions, and work exclusively with fractional residences, with constant alerts on matters such as availability, future development projects, and new offerings. If you’re in the market for a fractional ownership, make sure you speak with our friendly, knowlegeable local staff to receive unbiased information on all of the properties in Vail. We do not recommend purchasing a property through one, single property management company or hotel, for they are only offering you one option, which may not be the best fit for you at this time. We are locals operating locally, with the sole, abiding objective of making our customers the happiest they can be, and catering their every vacation need.
The featured fractional property of the week is the Vail Mountain View Residences on Gore Creek, one of the premiere destinations in Vail Valley since the winter season of 2006. Perhaps the most dramatically luxurious residential project to emerge prior to the Solaris launch, Mountain View offers spectacular views of the Gore Range, unbeatable opulence, luring elegance, and panoramic views of Vail Mountain and Gore Creek. Vail Mountain View Residences is one of the greatest fractional lodging options, with six luxurious penthouses with cathedral ceilings, 12 three- and four-bedroom condominiums, and 6 pieds-a-terre with walk out terraces. One of the rarest properties at Vail Mountain View Residences is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom air conditioned condominium with approximately 1840 square feet, facing the south with gorgeous views of Vail Mountain. This penthouse residence with high coffered ceilings includes one assigned parking spot in the heated, underground garage, a separate storage unit, a pool, and a Jacuzzi!
What visitors to the Valley may not know is that every fractional residence in Vail and Beaver Creek offers a unique ambiance and an authentic experience. The friendly, knowledgeable sales staff at Vail Ski Vacations—having such an intimate knowledge of all the properties in the area—will be able to best help you choose from the plethora of hotels, condo, and rental homes in the area. Vail Ski Vacations is the fractional ownership specialists in the Vail Valley. Our clients come directly to us with every detail of their vacation, and we take that information, and shop the valley for the best possible fit for each client. Unlike a property management company, our third party vacation rental company will supply you with insider, unbiased information to help you make an objective decision on where is the best place to stay in Vail.
If you have a particular property in mind that appeals to you, we can match you up with similar properties, so that you can get a feel of different price ranges, locations, and qualities. Similarly, we can advise you in properties that are unlike your preferred options, narrowing down the alternatives to best fit your needs. Vail Ski Vacations—soon to be Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals—has thrived in the Vail and Beaver Creek area for the last three years, exploring new heights with highly developed, cutting edge vacation rental online software, progressive thinking, and persistent customer satisfaction. We are committed to marking a sophisticated and innovative milestone in the Vacation Rental Industry, hence our expansion to 6 new markets in the Rocky Mountains by the upcoming winter season!
