Beaver Creek Vacations Testimonials

I remember as a little kid, my mom stuffing me into my snow suit and my dad shoving my feet into ski boots. I was generally trying to scramble my way out the door, anxious to hit the slopes. My skis would impatiently swing back and forth as we rode the lift. Once at the top I was free! I was Queen! I, commander of the mountain, and ruler of the snow, could fly over expertly groomed snow in any direction I pleased! Now this, this was fun!

The simple and pure pleasure that children get from the little things in life was not lost on me. My first full winter at Beaver Creek was one of those ‘quarter century storm’ years. From November to April, I would fly through waist deep powder in Royal Elk Glade, Stone Creek Chutes, Turkey Glades and anywhere else the snow was light and deep!

As the spring came the clouds parted and the sun reflected against the brilliant snow, nearly blinding us. The fresh and light powder snow we had enjoyed all season turned to packed powder, and I was skiing my first set of Blue Bird days! You know that kind of day, perfectly groomed runs, brilliantly sunny weather make for the perfect ‘blue cruiser days’. It was the ideal conditions for carving flawless turns on a perfect mountain! Of the whole season, I remember those days the most fondly. Over my years in Beaver Creek I have learned that the beauty in age is wisdom, and though I am still young at heart, I will always remember my first full season in Beaver Creek as I treasure the ‘blue cruiser days’ just as much as the powder days!
