Grand Targhee
Grand Targhee is a ski resort located in the western slope of the Teton Mountains of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest in Alta, Wyoming. The name Targhee came from an Indian’s name Chief Targhee of 1867. Grand Targhee was purchased in 1975 by Bill Robinson. Then in 1987, the resort was purchased and operated by Mory and Carol Bergmeyer. They improved the facilities over time and it slowly began to shape into a world-class ski resort. The ingenuity, available terrain, and love for snow sports catalyzed the development of this excellent ski resort in the Rocky Mountains.
The resort offers lodging, a spa, many retail stores, conference facilities, skiing, and many summer and winter activities. The ski resort offers three quad-chairs, one double chair, and one conveyor. The resort is known for its great snow, great western hospitality, vast amount of terrain, and scenic beauty. Also there is a wide range of dining restaurants in the surrounding area that are sure to please everyone. Grand Targhee is an excellent destination for a family adventure or ski vacation. History: Grand Targhee Resort is located in Targhee National Forest in Alta, Wyoming. The Resort received its name from two references, Grand Teton Mountain and Chief Targhee. The first high-speed quad chair was installed in 1997 and since then Grand Targhee has been providing world class terrain and high quality facilities for all vacationers to enjoy.
