History:

Jackson Hole, originally called Jackson’s Hole, was named after David E. Jackson, a beaver trapper, by his partner Bill Sublette. Jackson Hole was Jackson’s favorite trapping ground. Grand Teton National Park was established in 1929, which is when early skiing began in Jackson Hole.
