Fly Fishing Lessons/Trips: Decades before the town’s world renowned skiing and golfing attractions were established, Whistler was famous for being a great fishing destination. While the town has changed a great deal since this time, the quality of fishing has remained the same. Whistler Valley and the surrounding countryside’s numerous rivers and lakes provide year round angling of a wide variety of fish including rainbow, steelhead, brook and cutthroat trout, salmon and char. There is a variety of lessons and guided trips available throughout the Whistler Valley.

Golf: Whistler is home to three prestigious golf courses. Nicklaus North Golf Course is a par-71, 18 hole course that was designed by Jack Nicklaus and first opened in 1996. Rates for 18 holes at Nicklaus North range from $115 to $175 depending on the time of the year.
The Whistler Golf Club is a par-71, 18 hole course designed by Arnold Palmer and first opened in 1983. Rates for 18 holes at Whistler Golf Club range from $109 to $129 depending on time of year.
The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Course is a par-72, 18 hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and first opened in 1993. Rates for 18 holes at Fairmont Chateau range from $125 to $195 depending on time of year.
Hiking: The Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains offer a variety of 18 scenic hiking trails which range in difficulty from quick and easy beginner trails to long and challenging expert trails. Throughout the various Whistler and Blackcomb hiking trails you’ll find a diverse landscape including volcanoes, waterfalls, icy ponds, remote lakes, glaciers and much more. Wildlife throughout Whistler Blackcomb includes marmots, deer, beavers, and river otters against a backdrop of ancient Cedar and Douglas-fir Forests, Blueberry bushes, and masses of colorful wildflowers.

Horseback Riding: Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains offer a variety of horseback trails for individuals of all capabilities and ages. Trails include everything from long, strenuous mountain trails, to easy, relaxing strolls, to pony rides for children. Trails can range from an hour to five hours in length.

Mountain Biking: Whistler offers hundreds of miles of mountain biking tracks for beginner and expert riders including the paved Valley Trail system and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. In the Whistler Mountain Bike Park, you’re given access to lift services for over 200 kilometers of trails filled with jumps, teeter-totters and table tops.

Off-Road Tours: Throughout the Whistler Blackcomb area you’ll find a variety of Mountain, Wilderness and Glacier Safari’s (tours). Whistler Blackcomb offers everything from ATV tours, where you’ll be able to take the reins and drive yourself while your guide takes you to the best places to Jeep tours where your guide will do the driving while you relax, take pictures and enjoy the scenery. Tours can range from an hour to four hours in length.

Rafting: When the weather gets warm and the snow melts in Whistler, the rivers are filled with cool, clear water that is great for white water rafting. Whistler’s Squamish, Elaho and Green Rivers offer a wide variety of rafting with differing levels of difficulty. Whether you’re an inexperienced first time rafter looking to have a fun time with less difficulty, or an experienced rafter looking for a challenge through some thrilling rapids, Whistler’s rivers have everything you need.
