Vail

Opening Day: November 19, 2010

Vail, located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, is known by skiers and riders world-wide as one of the best places to ski in North America. After just one winter vacation to the Vail Valley, you will never want to ski anywhere else. People travel from all over the world to Vail Mountain because it offers 5,289 acres of terrain and a multitude of back bowls that blanket seven miles of Vail’s backside. On average, Vail Mountain can expect over 350 inches of pristine powder, 300 days of sunshine and more groomed terrain than anywhere else on earth.  Though Vail is mostly known for its winter months, there is much to do during the summer months as well. Vail has an abundant amount of dynamic activities for people of all ages to enjoy. Outdoor activities such as hiking & backpacking, rafting & kayaking, horseback riding, fishing and hunting are all great ways to get outdoors in the Vail Valley. Vail is always booming with numerous events, including free summer concerts and art festivals, and is guaranteed to make your summer one of the most memorable experiences in your life.

Vail differs from other vacationing spots for several reasons. It has more open space (30 percent of its land) than any other resort community in the U.S.  Vail also has the largest free transit system in the nation. Come ski Vail and when you are done hang up your jacket and enjoy world class dining, nightlife, and shopping. The Vail area consists of three unique main villages: Golden Peak, Vail Village, and Lionshead Village. Golden Peak is known for being the quickest access point to the top of Vail Mountain. Vail Village is in the center of Vail and is the key location for all kinds of mountain activities, with restaurants, boutiques, nightclubs packing its streets. Lionshead features the Eagle Bahn Gondola, Vail Valley’s only gondola. The gondola is open during the winter and summer seasons to give people access to the mountain for skiing and snowboarding as well as for hiking and biking.

Lodging in the Vail area can be arranged by Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals, and is organized under a set of ratings.  These ratings are: luxury, deluxe, standard, and economy.  The purpose of these ratings is to provide the customer with a general description of what is offered at each level of lodging.  We maintain an extensive inventory in Vail of luxury hotels, rental homes, and ski in/ski out lodging.  When planning your Vail vacation, be sure to use our complete concierge services to ensure that we meet all of your needs.  From floral arrangements to babysitters, we can help you out.  For more information on Aspen winter and/or summer packages, please call Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals today.
