Every Tuesday from May 14th-June 18th from 5-7pm on Gore Creek, the Vail Kayak Race Series will hold different races for competitors and spectators to enjoy. Races feature kayakers, stand up paddle boarders, and rafters.
The "Down River" races will have racers paddling as fast as possible from the Covered Bridge to the International Bridge. Racers will need to navigate turning around two buoys before crossing the finish line.
The "Ring Your Bell" Race has competitors racing from the Covered Bridge to International Bridge, but they cannot complete the race unless all bells on buoys are rung.
The Best Trick event will showcase the Vail Whitewater Park at its best with big tricks and surfing from kayaks, SUPs and rafts. The judges will decide but the spectators get to enjoy the action from the side.

Competitors may sign up at the grass area in front of Mountain Standard beginning at 5. There is a $5 entry fee. Named best trail race by Colorado Runner in 2006 and 2011, the HillClimb will test local, regional and national runners with a 7.5 mile climb from Vail Village to Vail Mountain’s summit, a gain of 2,500 vertical feet. The race begins at 8 a.m. in Vail Village on the paved road next to Vail’s Mountain Haus and continues the ascent on a gravel trail that takes runners to the finish line at Eagle’s Nest. The Eagle Bahn Gondola in LionsHead will operate from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. for race-day spectators and volunteers. The HillClimb is presented by the Vail Mountain Haus and is the third race of the 2013 La Sportiva Vail Mountain Trail Running Series.

The race begins at 8 a.m. at the base of the Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead and will test runners of all abilities on a single track and double track course with an average grade of 14 percent. The race will end at Eagle's Nest at the top of Vail Mountain. The Eagle Bahn Gondola in LionsHead will operate from 8 to 9 a.m. for race-day spectators.

Overview:
The 4th annual KEEN Vail Kids Adventure Race will offer kids, ages six through 14, the opportunity to experience the thrill of adventure racing through Vail and the surrounding wilderness. During the race, teams of two will work together to navigate a variety of sports and and problem-solving challenges, including mountain biking, hiking, tubing, archery, a low ropes course, a zip line, a climbing wall, a Tarzan swing, a giant slip-n-slide and more. The KEEN Vail Kids Adventure Race will begin with instructions and a safety briefing by Race Director and Adventure Racer, Billy Mattison. Competitors will be divided into waves based on age and start at set intervals. Younger children will race Saturday, Aug. 10 and older participants will race on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013.

The 2013 KEEN Vail Kids Adventure Race will expand to four days of fun for kids and families this summer. The event will include two days of optional skills clinics for race participants, an interactive Family Adventure Expo area and two days of competition with multiple courses based on the age and ability level of participants. The age limit for this year's event has been increased to 14 years old.

Internationally-acclaimed ballroom stars Liana Churilova (Russia) and Emmanuel Pierre-Antoine (Haiti) host and headline a made-for-Vail showcase, with ballroom champions from around the world performing a variety of dances from the waltz to the rumba, cha-cha, merengue, samba, tango and foxtrot to a musical medley of classic hits.

Gourmet on Gore returns to Vail Village for the seventh year over Labor Day weekend. An open-air gourmet food and wine festival, Gourmet on Gore takes place along Vail’s Gore Creek Drive and Bridge Street showcasing the Vail Valley’s premier restaurants as well as wine, beer and spirits from around the world. There is no cost for admission and guests can sample tasting-size portions of gourmet food as well as wine tastings and other beverages at very reasonable prices. Live jazz music, wine demonstrations combined with great food and drink come together to create a wonderful atmosphere in Vail Village. All ages are welcome, although you must be 21 and older to enjoy the alcoholic beverages offered.
Emulating the more than 200-year-old celebration known by millions around the world, Vail’s Oktoberfest will delight guests for two whole weekends with Bavarian music and dancing, traditional fare, yodeling, alpenhorn blowing, beer and much more. Oktoberfest 2013 will see the return of many crowd favorites like bratwurst eating contests, keg bowling contests and the Oktoberfest Fun Run.
The Vail Valley Victory Races is a series comprised of running and biking events throughout the year. The Vail Victory Races in Vail represent the final event in the Vail Valley series. The Vail Victory Races running events are on Monday, September 2nd and mountain bike races are on Saturday, September 7th.
The Victory Marathon, Victory Half Marathon, and Victory 5-Mile Run/Walk are on road events: 13.1 miles along residential streets and Vail Bike Path. Marathon runners will continue the second half of the race on Vail Mountain: dirt roads and trails (pending V.A. & USFS approval). The Kid's Race is a 1-mile course on road, dirt, and grass. Eight Aid Stations along half-marathon course and fourteen total aid staions along marathon route. Each stocked with energy gel and drink. Post-race brunch and beer. T-Shirts and Finisher medals; ribbons for Kids Race. The Valor Races is proud to partner with the Vail Veterans Program as our philanthropic recipient for this event. The America Cup International Fly Fishing Tournament is a catch and release, fly-fishing tournament with International, U.S., Men's, Women's, Youth and Adaptive anglers competing on the best trout waters in Colorado. 5 person teams compete for gold, silver, and bronze medals and The Cup. The tournament is organized and operated to promote U.S. and international competition in the sport of fly fishing and to provide program and monetary support to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, whose mission is to assist in the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active duty military personnel and veterans through fly fishing and fly tying education and outings.

The seventh and final race in the Vail Recreation District's (VRD) La Sportiva Vail Mountain Trail Running Series, the EverGold 11k and 5k presented by Happy Valley Grill, will begin and end at the Vail Golf Club and runners will traverse along the Vail Trail to Golden Peak, up the popular Berry Picker trail, to Lion Down, back to Golden Peak and finish the run on the Vail Trail for a distance just over seven miles. Runners will experience an average grade of 10 percent and gain nearly 1,700 feet in elevation throughout the race. Those participating in the 5k will also run on the Vail Trail to Golden Peak and then return back on the Vail Trail to the Vail Golf Club.
