Heavenly - Vacation Rentals & Ski Lodging

Heavenly Mountain Resort is an excellent selection for your next mountain escape if you’re looking to fill your time with some real mountain fun. Sitting on the California-Nevada border in South Lake Tahoe, you’ll likely need more than one visit to experience all that this resort has to offer. You can hit the slopes in the morning, lounge out on one of the slope-side decks for some delectable après ski in the afternoon and then take a quick trip over the border for some adult fun at one of the many hotel casinos that night. Like most resorts in Lake Tahoe area, you’ll be treated to unforgettable picturesque views of the lake while you make your way down the mountain. It’s almost unreal.

The resort, spanning from California to Nevada, is spread over four base facilities. Those who enjoy hitting the shops will be quite pleased with the seemingly endless options of retail venues. You know that exquisite dining can be as important to a vacation as the slopes themselves, and Heavenly knows it, too. The resort offers just about every option under the sun for when the hunger pangs start to hit. From a good old fashioned American hamburger and fries to duck confit and seared foie gras, there is certainly no shortage of options when it’s time to eat.

Heavenly Mountain Resort also doesn’t skimp when you’re looking for something fun to do besides taking in some powder runs. In the winter, there’s snowmobiling, snowshoeing, romantic moonlit sleigh rides or even the thrilling rides you can take down the tubing hill while spending the day with family and friends at Adventure Peak.

During the summer months, relax at the hot springs while taking in sweeping views of the Sierra Nevada’s, grab a boat or kayak and head out for a day on the pristine water of the lake or even take a hot air balloon ride over the entire area and see Lake Tahoe from completely unique perspective.

The mountain terrain is primarily geared towards intermediate and expert skiers and snowboarders. While there are only a few sections meant for beginners, they will enjoy the fact that all novice level sections are grouped together, meaning that they won’t have to worry about navigating any blue or black runs while trying to avoid the more advanced skiers and snowboarders during their day on the mountain. The terrain is comprised of 4,800 skiable acres (1,900 hectares) serviced by 30 individual lifts. The resorts peak elevation reaches its maximum at 10,067 feet (3,068 meters) with a vertical drop of 3,812 feet (1,162 meters). The 97 total runs are separated into 20% for beginners, 45% for intermediate level skiers and snowboarders and 35% for more advanced and expert level individuals, though all runs get to share equally in the 360 inches (910 centimeters) of snowfall that the resort averages each season.
